How Many Personality Types Are in SBTI

If you have just finished the quiz or opened the type library, one of the first questions is usually simple: how many SBTI types are there? The answer is straightforward once you separate regular types from special ones.

The current version has 27 total types

The current mysbti.info type library contains 27 total types: 25 regular types and 2 special types. Regular types participate in the normal matching flow. Special types are triggered by hidden conditions or fallback logic.

That is why most results you see on the site come from the regular library, while outputs such as DRUNK or HHHH behave more like special branches than standard ranked matches.

What the 25 regular types mean

The regular types are the actual main library used by the test. Your result is built by comparing your 15-dimension pattern against each preset regular type and then ranking the closest matches.

Types like CTRL, LOVE-R, MUM, OH-NO, and BOSS all belong to that standard library. The “you may also match these types” section on the result page also comes from this same group.

What the 2 special types are for

Special types are not normal always-on library outputs. They behave more like unusual exits in the result system.

In the current version, HHHH behaves like a fallback-style output, while DRUNK is tied to a hidden condition. Their purpose is partly structural and partly tonal: they make the test feel more internet-native and less like a formal personality inventory.

Why it is not a 16-type system

Because SBTI is not a direct clone of the classic 16-type model. It uses its own type library, naming system, and result framing, so the final count is different on purpose.

For users, that matters because this site is not trying to hand you a familiar old framework. It is trying to give you a more content-oriented, more entertainment-oriented type system that feels shareable.

Can I see every type on one page?

Yes. The site already includes a full type library page that separates the 25 regular types from the 2 special ones.

If you want to browse the whole library before taking the quiz, the most direct page is:

Why the type count matters at all

The point is not to memorize 27 labels. The point is to set expectation. This is not a tiny one-page quiz with a handful of answers. It is a personality-content site with a full result library behind the test.

That matters for search users too. A lot of people want to know how big the result system is before deciding whether the site is worth clicking into.

If you just want the experience, start the test

If you only want to see which SBTI type you land on, you do not need to memorize the count first. Start the test now and come back to the type library later.

If you already know the current version has 27 types, the most useful next step is to take the test itself.
